First 2013 SPEED SPORT Knoxville World Challenge Qualifier is this Saturday at Western Springs with 3 Americans, 1 Australian & Many New Zealanders
KNOXVILLE, IOWA (November 21, 2012) – The Western Springs Speedway in Auckland, New Zealand, will host the first 2013 SPEED SPORT Knoxville World Challenge international qualifier this Saturday, November 24, with the World Sprint Car Classic. Amongst the early entrants are Americans Donny Schatz of North Dakota, Ricky Logan of Arkansas, and Jonathan Allard of California; Australian Peter Murphy of Queensland; and a whole host of talented New Zealanders. The thirty-lap feature will pay $5,000 to win, with all competitors qualifying for the $10,000-to-win SPEED SPORT Knoxville World Challenge on Friday, August 9, during the 53rd annual Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway.
Amongst the New Zealanders that are expected to be present for the inaugural round of Western Springs’ two-race International Sprint Car Series are Ryan O’Connor, Dean Brindle, Jamie Duff, Jamie McDonald, Allan Woods, Daniel Rogers, Greg Pickerill, Dion Kendall, Rob Corscadden, Scott Fountain and Rob Allen.
