Nelson Canache and Napleton Racing Claim Glory at Daytona’s Rolex 24 in Debut of GX-Class

nelsoncancheConcord, NC (January 28, 2013) — Venezuelan driver, Nelson Canache who drove for Venturini Motorsports during the 2012 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season basked in the Florida sun this weekend claiming his first ever Rolex 24 at Daytona Championship competing with the No.16 Napleton Racing Porsche Cayman team.

After starting from the pole position Canache, along with co-drivers Shane Lewis, Jim Norman and David Donahue dominated the newly entered GX-Class in the 51st running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Canache, a two-time Venezuelan open wheel champion made his stock car debut in 2012 with Venturini Motorsports and finished 8th overall in the ARCA Series point standings. His career best stock car performance came at Chicagoland Speedway during the Ansell ActivArmr 150 in July where he qualified third and finished seventh in his VMS Venezuelan Tourism Toyota.
