FORD RACING NOTES AND QUOTES

Ford Racing drivers Brad Keselowski and Carl Edwards went to the garage early during today’s first practice session. Keselowski had a fuel system issue that required repair while Edwards was involved in an accident with Ryan Newman.
BRAD KESELOWSKI – No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion – “Something went wrong with the fuel system in the car. That’s not what you want when you’re in front of the pack because when your car slows down, they’ve got nowhere to go and it could cause a wreck. So we’re gonna spend a little extra time to make sure we’ve got whatever it is figured out.”
WHAT IS THE ISSUE? “Something broke in the fuel system, but I don’t know what. We’ll change everything and take that stuff home and tear through it piece by piece until we figure out what went wrong.”
SO YOU WON’T HAVE TO CHANGE THE ENGINE TO FIX IT? “It looks that way. They’re the car doctors. I let the car doctors be car doctors. I try to be informed, but I’m no car doctor.”
CARL EDWARDS – No. 99 Fastenal Ford Fusion – “I was up close to Ryan and then all of a sudden his car just got a little loose and there was no space. I could have given him more space, but I don’t think either one of us really understands why his car got so loose. It was just all of a sudden and he was turned sideways. It’s really interesting and something I’m gonna be careful of during the race.”
YOU’RE GOING TO FIX THIS CAR, CORRECT? “Yes, we’re fixing this car. We’re racing this car, so we’re gonna fix it and race it in the Duel tomorrow.”
