Eric McClure’s Texas Advance

O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 QUOTES & NOTES: Texas Motor Speedway

Eric McClure Quotes

How have you enjoyed your two off-weekends?

“Basically I relaxed with the kids and watched the local boys race at the track where I grew up racing, Lonesome Pine Raceway.  We also celebrated our oldest (Mabreigh) and youngest (Merritt) daughters’ birthdays while I was at home; the party was a Princess Jasmine theme.  I had an enjoyable two weeks off, but I am ready to go back racing.”

What are your expectations heading into Texas?

“We haven’t had the best of luck recently so I am looking forward to racing at one of my favorite tracks on the circuit this weekend.  The guy have worked extremely hard, we ran well in November, so we are hoping for a good night.”

Hefty®/Reynolds® Racing NOTES

23rd in Owners’ Points:  Heading into race six of the Nationwide Series season, Eric McClure and his TriStar Motorsports team find themselves in the 23rd position in owners’ standings, 12 points out of the 20th spot. After his 8th-place, career-best finish in Daytona, McClure has failed to crack the top-20. He did however get close when posting a 21st-place finish in Bristol.

Giddy-Up! McClure Heads to Texas: The O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 marks the Virginia native’s 205th Nationwide Series start and his 14th at the 1.5-mile speedway.  In 13 starts, McClure has completed 86.5% of the total laps attempted and has an average finish of 28.8.  One year ago, the team posted a 24th-place finish and backed it up with a 21st-place finish in November.  McClure’s best outing at the speedway came in 2009 when he finished in the 19th position.

Chassis No. 5:  McClure will pilot chassis No. 5 from the TriStar Motorsports stable this weekend in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300.  This will be the third race on this chassis.  It was last run at Bristol Motor Speedway where McClure posted a 21st-place finish.  Prior to Bristol, it was run at Phoenix Int’l Raceway where an engine failure relegated the team to a 29th-place finish after running in the top-15 for the majority of the race.

Texas Appearance Schedule:  Prior to Friday night’s 300 mile race at TMS, McClure will be making an appearance at Wal Mart 5080 on Thursday, April 11 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. The store is located at 1732 Precinct Line Rd in Hurst, TX.  Be sure to stop by and receive an autograph as well as stock up on all your race day needs.

Tune-In:  Friday’s race from Texas Motor Speedway will be televised live on ESPN2 beginning at 8:00 P.M. (ET).  PRN (Performance Racing Network) and SiriusXM Radio Channel 90 will also broadcast the event live on Friday, April 12.

About Reynolds Consumer Products

Two of the most trusted household brands, Reynolds® and Hefty®, joined together as Reynolds Consumer Products in 2010.  While the establishment of this new company made it official, the truth is that Reynolds® and Hefty® products have been found side-by-side in the kitchens of American families for more than three generations.

The creation of both the Reynolds® and Hefty® brands is the direct result of American ingenuity mixed with a bit of elbow grease.  Reynolds Wrap® Foil was invented after the use of aluminum for military purposes diminished after World War II and became a new staple for American kitchens.  Hefty® Waste Bags were first developed with excess material from an early plastics innovator, creating another household essential.

Today, Reynolds Consumer Products, headquartered in Lake Forest, Illinois offers a diverse product portfolio of essentials for every home.  From prepping, cooking and serving, to storage and disposal, Reynolds Consumer Products provides solutions for controlling the chaos of busy households everywhere.
