Souvenir and Apparel-Focused Campaign Introduces New STP® and Petty Products
CONCORD, N.C. (April 17, 2013) – Richard Petty Motorsports, STP® and Motorsports Authentics today announced a new program Fans Making Smiles at Victory Junction offering exciting new Petty Products to race fans. The program will introduce newly licensed STP and Richard Petty apparel and products available this weekend at Kansas Speedway with a portion of every $50 purchase on the Chase Authentics souvenir rig benefiting the camp built by the Petty family in honor of their son, Adam. With each $50 purchase, fans will make smiles for each camper sent to Victory Junction.
The program will kick off this weekend at Kansas Speedway with “The King Holds Court,” an autograph signing by NASCAR Hall of Fame inductees Richard Petty, Dale Inman and current driver of the famed No. 43 STP, Aric Almirola. The trio will sign autographs for fans on Saturday, April 20 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the souvenir hauler. Fans can secure a ticket for the exclusive autograph session when they purchase $50 or more of Richard Petty Motorsports product at the Chase Authentics souvenir rig located at the fan midway during the STP 400 weekend. There will be a limited amount of tickets for the autograph session.
“For Dale and I, this will be like our days when I was driving,” quipped Petty. “I haven’t signed autographs in our souvenir hauler in a long time, and now, I’m going back and going to bring Dale and Aric with me. Hopefully, this will get a lot of fans of the STP No. 43 excited and want to support the camp too.”
Through the campaign, Motorsports Authentics will introduce special products that will be sold at its Chase Authentics souvenir rig at-track and through the Richard Petty Motorsports online store. The products will include collectible Sam Bass/Richard Petty/STP® themed posters, Richard Petty “Charlie 1 Horse” hats, diecasts and apparel.
“This is a great program that Richard Petty Motorsports, STP® and Motorsports Authentics have put together to help benefit the camp,” said John McKee, President of Victory Junction. “We really want to thank Richard, Dale and Aric for helping us by spending their time with the race fans this weekend. This is a really cool program that will hopefully benefit a lot of children here at Victory Junction.”
“We are honored to be a part of this exciting program,” stated Motorsports Authentics Vice President and General Manager, George Gay. “To have Richard, Dale, and Aric participate in an autograph session and to have STP® No. 43-branded merchandise on the souvenir trailer is exciting for us and for all of our customers.”
The campaign will last through Sunday, June 2 at Dover International Speedway.
