CASSILL RACKS UP ANOTHER TOP 15

BROOKLYN, Mich. – Using a strong early-race burst, Landon Cassill scored his second straight 14th-place finish on the Nationwide Series circuit in Saturday’s Ollie’s Bargain Outlet 250 at Michigan International Speedway.

Cassill opened the race in 26th position in the Flex Seal Chevrolet but shot toward the front quickly, moving into 18th place only 10 laps into the race. He was 19th at the halfway point but pushed into the top 15 in the closing laps.

In the last seven races, Cassill has six finishes in the top 14.

“We’ve been running well lately, and it was good to come home in the top 15 again with our small team,” Cassill said. “The guys are really giving me good cars, and we’re trying to get all that we can out of them. It’s fun when you can race around the top 15.”

Cassill stayed in 11th place in Nationwide driver points.

Paul Menard won the race, scoring only his second Nationwide victory and his first since 2006.

The series moves on to Road America for the tour’s first road race June 21.
