TriStar Motorsports EnjoyIllinois.com 300 Pre-Race Report Chicagoland Speedway

Mooresville, NC (July 15, 2014) – This weekend we move from the “Granite State” to the “Windy City” of Chicago, Illinois for the Enjoyillinois.com 300 at Chicagoland Speedway. This 1.5-mile, D-shaped oval speedway is the largest sports facility in Illinois. The NASCAR Nationwide Series will race at the speedway, under the lights on Saturday, July 19th. Read more below:

 

Eric McClure, No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry

 

Eric McClure and the No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry are going into this weekends race with 10 previous starts under their belt. McClure has an average starting position of 30.1 and an average finishing position of 27.8. After starting the 2013 fall race from the 25th spot, McClure finished the race in the 25th position. This will be the Virginia native’s 242nd career NASCAR Nationwide Series start.

 

Mike Bliss, No. 19 TriStar Motorsports Camry

Mike Bliss will make his 330th career NASCAR Nationwide Series start this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway. In his 11 previous starts at the 1.5-mile speedway, Bliss has captured two top-10 finishes. His average starting position is 16.3 and his average finishing position is 16.8. During the 2013 fall race, Bliss qualified 35th and advanced 12 positions to finish 23rd. After three weekends of misfortune, Bliss is hoping that good luck is on his side this weekend in Chicago.

David Starr, No. 44 Plan B Sales Camry

David Starr will make his first NASCAR Nationwide Series start at Chicagoland Speedway this weekend. Although this is his first NNS race in the “Windy City”, Starr has four NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at the 1.5-mile speedway, which includes two top-10 finishes. This weekend will also mark Starr’s 35th career NASCAR Nationwide Series start. After a 25th place finish at Daytona International Speedway earlier this month, Starr is ready to get back behind the wheel of the No. 44 Camry this weekend.
