· Biffle at Chicago
o Biffle has 11 Sprint Cup career starts at Chicago, earning one top-five and one top-10 finish.
· Last Time at Chicago
o Biffle started the race seventh after the five hour red flag for rain, but a miscue in the pits cost him valuable track position. The pit road incident resulted in Biffle being on a different pit cycle and ultimately crossing the finish line 16th.
· The Chase Is On
o Biffle clinched his spot in the 2014 Chase for the Championship with his 19th-place finish at Richmond. Biffle now sits 15th in the Chase standings.
· Did You Know?
o Masking tape was invented at 3M in 1925 by scientist Richard Drew for use by professional painters in residential and commercial painting applications. 3M invented the product now known as ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape in 1988. It was originally developed for use in two-toned painting on automobiles. “We tested at Chicago a few weeks ago, so I feel good about our chances this weekend with Chicago being the first race of the Chase. Chicago is a pretty bumpy race track and it’s hard to get a handle on to balance the effects of getting through the bumps, but I think we learned some things that will pay off this weekend. Hopefully we can get a good run to start off the Chase.”
Puccia on Chicago:
“I can’t even begin to tell you how excited the No. 16 team is to be in the Chase. We had a great test at Chicago a couple weeks ago in preparation for the first race of the Chase. We are looking forward to using what we learned there and using that to get a good run this weekend.”
