CASSILL READY FOR CHARLOTTE
CONCORD, N.C. – Landon Cassill will be looking for a return to the top 15 in Friday night’s Drive for the Cure 300 Nationwide Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
In this season’s first Nationwide visit to the 1.5-mile track, Cassill finished a disappointing 30th. And he was 34th last week at Kansas Speedway after an engine issue.
“It’s time to run again like we know we can,” Cassill said. “Charlotte is a favorite track of mine, and we really didn’t get a chance to show what we could do there in May. We’ve got a good car this go-round.”
Cassill, who has raced 12 times in NASCAR national-series events at CMS, will be driving the Flex Seal Chevrolet for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller. He is 12th in Nationwide driver points entering one of the most important races of the second half of the season.
Practice is scheduled at CMS at 3:30 pm. and 5:30 p.m. (ET) Thursday. Qualifying is set for 4:10 p.m. Friday, with the race to follow at 7:30.
