Armstrong Looks for Repeat Performance on 1.5-mile Track at Homestead

Team Has Shown Improvement Throughout 2014 Season

Dakoda Armstrong and the No. 43 WinField Ford team will head to Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend to compete in the final NASCAR Nationwide Series race of the 2014 Season. The team, led by Crew Chief Philippe Lopez, has shown improvement throughout the season with rookie driver Dakoda Armstrong and will look to end the season with another strong finish.

The No. 43 WinField Ford crossed the finish line in the 10th position in the series’ last mile-and-a-half race at Texas Motor Speedway and hopes for a repeat performance at Homestead.

Armstrong has a total of four starts at the mile-and-a-half track, two Nationwide and two Truck Series starts, with an average finish of 24.25. The Nationwide team at RPM has a total of three starts at the track, earning their best finish of 12th in 2012.

“Homestead is probably the most different track out of any that we go to. It has more of an oval shape on the frontstretch, but then it’s as straight as can be on the backstretch. The preferred line and fastest line is right up against the wall, and that’s not the case for most of the mile-and-a-half tracks we go to. This is one of those places that I’ve struggled with, but we earned a Top-10 our last mile-and-a-half race. With our improvement this second half of the year, I think we’ll be able to close out the season with a good finish. Regardless, Homestead is a fun track, there’s a lot of passing and we’re able to really race there.”
