This Week’s Texas 28 Spirits Stage Toyota at Las Vegas Motor Speedway:  JJ Yeley will pilot Chassis No. 217 in the Boyds Gaming 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  Yeley last ran this chassis in the 2014 season ending event at Homestead- Miami Speedway where he qualified 17th and finished 16th.

Yeley at Las Vegas Motor Speedway:

JJ will be making his eighth NASCAR XFINITY Series start at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway to go along with his six starts in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at the track.  Yeley has one top-10 finish in XFINITY Series competition which came during the 2006 event.  Last year JJ finished 21st in his debut performance for JGL Racing.

One Year Anniversary:

This weekend’s event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will mark the one year anniversary of the JJ Yeley and JGL Racing partnership.  JJ joined the newly formed team last year in Las Vegas for the first time as he piloted the teams second entry to a respectable 21st place finish in that event.

JJ’s Thoughts on Las Vegas:

“Las Vegas is a great track for many reasons and a place that gives me and this JGL Racing team a lot of confidence heading to.  At Las Vegas it is a little easier to tune on your car than it was last week in Atlanta as the tires don’t fall off as much.  The track has good character with the bumps in Turns 1 & 2.  In all, the track and situation gives a team like ours a great chance to shine.  We are coming off a decent run in Atlanta last week where Steve Plattenberger (crew chief) and the guys gave me a strong car and the pit crew did a good job as well.  All of these elements are key to a strong run and I think we can look forward to just that this week in Las Vegas.”

JJ’s Thoughts on JGL Racing Growth:

“James Whitener (owner JGL Racing) committed a tremendous amount of resources over the winter in growing this team and it is starting to really show.  We had a strong run in Daytona and ran inside the Top-10 most of the day before getting caught up in the dreaded wreck at Daytona.  Last week we were one of the top independent teams in Atlanta.  The switch to PME Engine makes a big difference as does the switch to Toyota as a manufacturer.  We have some exciting times ahead of us this coming season and I am honored to be a part of it.”
