Front Row Motorsports Cheez-It 355 at The Glen Race Preview

Cheez-It 355 at The Glen
Watkins Glen International, Watkins Glen, N.Y.
Chris Buescher | No. 34 Bully Hill Vineyards Ford

“I’m really excited to go racing again in the Cup car. I’ve had some success on road courses last year, and I think Watkins Glen was a good track for us. I didn’t get to do Sonoma earlier this year, but I feel like we can get back into it at Watkins Glen and have a good day. I’m not a road course specialist by any means, but I really enjoy it. And each time we go out, we learn a lot, have a lot of fun and seem to do pretty decent at the same time.

“It’s been a couple months since I’ve worked with the 34 team, but I think we’ll get right back into a rhythm. I know they’ve been working hard on the Bully Hill Vineyards car, and I I think we’ll be up to speed pretty quick.”
JUST THE FACTS: Sunday’s race will be Buescher’s first Sprint Cup start at Watkins Glen International … The race will be the 22-year-old’s sixth race with Front Row Motorsports … Buescher has one XFINITY Series starts at the New York Finger Lakes road course … Bully Hill Vineyards joins the No. 34 Ford for the first time as primary sponsor.

Cole Whitt | No. 35 Tweaker Energy Shot Ford

“I’m really looking forward to Watkins Glen. It’s just a fun track, and it’s my favorite track that we go to. I like the road courses because they’re different. And it’s a little bit more of a level playing field for some of the smaller teams like us. I just feel really comfortable at The Glen. I’ve had some good runs in other cars, so I am looking forward to going with our Tweaker Energy Shot Ford and seeing what we can do. We’ll also have some grand-prize winners from the Tweaker Shot sweepstakes with us there on race day, so that will be a great experience for everybody.”

JUST THE FACTS: Sunday will be Whitt’s second Sprint Cup career start at Watkins Glen International … Whitt has two XFINITY Series starts at the 2.5-mile road course … Tweaker Energy Shot returns as primary sponsor of the No. 35 Ford with Circle K and Bully Hill Vineyards joining as associate sponsors … Tweaker is promoting the Tweaker Energy Shot Cole Whitt Sweepstakes, in which a grand-prize winner gets a race-day experience with Whitt and the No. 35 team.

David Gilliland | No. 38 Love’s Travel Stops Ford

“Watkins Glen has got a lot more speed than Sonoma does, and it’s challenging in its own ways. But it’s fun and we’re looking forward to it. We lost our primary road course car at Sonoma, so we’ve been working hard to get another car ready, and it’s coming out really good. So, I’m eager to get our new Love’s Travel Stops Ford on track and try it out.”
JUST THE FACTS: Gilliland has seven Sprint Cup starts at Watkins Glen International … He has one top-20 finish at the 2.5-mile road course … His best finish at The Glen is 20th (2012) … Love’s Travel Stops returns as primary sponsor of the No. 38 Ford.
