FORD FINISHING RESULTS
12th Aric Almirola
13th Ryan Reed
15th Brad Keselowski
17th Jeb Burton
33rd Darrell Wallace Jr.

Aric Almirola, No. 98 Carroll Shelby Engine Co. Ford Mustang (FINISHED 12th)
“It was an okay day. The track got really slick there and we just didn’t keep up with our adjustments. We took off pretty good but then we just got really, really loose. We have to work on our stuff. I am disappointed. To be top Ford and finish 12th means we have some work to do to get our Mustangs faster. I feel like I learned quite a bit to be able to sit down and debrief with my cup crew chief Trent tonight and make a game plan for tomorrow.”

THE WIND IS PICKING UP, HOW DID THAT AFFECT YOU AND HOW DOES IT IMPACT YOUR GAME PLAN TOMORROW? “The wind was pretty sketchy. Your car would be driving okay and then all of a sudden out of nowhere your car would get really tight or really loose, real drastic changes. I think that was just the gust of the wind. All in all we learned quite a bit and we will just have to go from there.”

Darrell Wallace Jr., No. 6 Ford EcoBoost Mustang – (FINISHED 33rd) (ACCIDENT)
HOW DO YOU FEEL AND WHAT DID YOU SEE? “I am good. That Coca-Cola kind of brought me back to life. It is just unfortunate. We were running our own race there. Top-10. Kind of fell off late in the run and getting free but we were making gains on our Ford Mustang all day and getting it better and better. To come out with a destroyed race car, I can’t even say wrecked, it is done, killed. It is just unfortunate and I hate it for my guys. We will rebound. We have a good Ford Mustang going to Phoenix and we will go from there.

ANY PARTICULAR AREA YOU ARE SORE RIGHT NOW? “No, I am just getting old so I limp after every race. That is protocol. We are good.”

“Thank the Lord that we all walked away okay. That second impact was pretty good too. I am here and talking to you. All good. I hate it for my guys. I was having so much fun here. 10 laps ago I was thinking how good this place was to me. Guess I spoke too soon. I can’t thank everybody enough including Jack and everybody at Ford and Roush Performance. We will come back and go to Phoenix. We gained a lot in the fall race there.”

WHEN YOU LOOK AT THIS INCIDENT, DID YOUR SPOTTER GIVE YOU ENOUGH TIME? “Freddy did a hell of a job as he always does. There is no blame on anybody. By the time he caught it I was already in pitch and by the time I slowed down it just jumped out from under me. It is unfortunate circumstances that is all.”
