KANSAS SPEEDWAY SEASON TICKET HOLDER HEADED TO DAYTONA 500

Trip is part of season ticket renewal incentive program

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Feb. 22, 2017) – Over 100 Kansas Speedway ticket holders were rewarded for renewing their season tickets by the deadline, and Jeff Camden of Overland Park, Kansas, won the Grand Prize – a trip to this year’s Daytona 500 for him and a guest.

Camden, has been a season ticket holder since 2001, but his NASCAR fandom started in the 1990’s before Kansas Speedway was even on the NASCAR radar.

“I used to go to Daytona before Kansas Speedway opened,” said Camden, who notes that Mark Martin is his favorite driver. “I haven’t been back in a long time. I have family in Orlando, so I’m very excited to go back to a race at Daytona, spend time with my nephew Mike and visit family while we are there.”

Of current drivers, Jeff doesn’t currently have a favorite, saying, “I like them all and have a lot of respect for the drivers who have won championships because I know how hard that is to do. I also enjoy seeing a driver win his or her first race.”

Camden’s plus one for the trip is his nephew, Mike Camden, an Army veteran who has served two tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. Mike is currently in the Army Reserves.

Besides the Daytona 500 trip, season ticket holders also won great prizes from Kansas Speedway partners, like Go Bowling, Hollywood Casino, Kansas Lottery, Hy-Vee, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Tru-Green, AAA, Tickets for Less, Coca-Cola, Toyota, Gatorade and the Richard Petty Driving Experience. All winners have been contacted.

Racing returns to Kansas Speedway on Friday, May 12 with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Toyota Tundra 250, and Saturday, May 13 with the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Go Bowling 400 under the lights! In October, the Hollywood Casino 400 is an elimination race in the Monster Energy Series playoffs on Sunday, Oct. 22. The NASCAR XFINITY Series Kansas Lottery 300 will again be a part of the playoffs for the NASCAR XFINITY Series on Saturday, Oct. 21, while the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will wrap up their season on Friday, Oct. 20. Tickets are currently on sale by calling 866.460.RACE (7223) or online at www.kansasspeedway.com.
