AUSTIN DILLON QUOTES:
With the rules package completely different than what we have run in the past at Texas Motor Speedway, do you just throw the notebook out or are there things from previous years you can use this weekend?
“It’s going to be tough to take the notebook that we’ve run over the last couple of years at Texas Motor Speedway and apply it to the package we are running this weekend, but everything does relate. You can always apply something. The biggest thing is learning the history of the race and how the rubber lays down on the track. We’re always learning a little bit. We’ve worked really hard at RCR during the off season and our cars have speed. It’s comforting going into a track like Texas Motor Speedway knowing how fast our cars have been so far this year. We just need to string together a solid finish.”

Daniel Hemric and the No. 8 Bulwark FR/Wayne Workwear Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 at Texas Motor Speedway … This weekend, Hemric will be making his first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series start at Texas Motor Speedway. The 2019 Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender has four NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at the 1.5-mile track, earning one top-five and two top-10 finishes, with 81 laps led. DANIEL HEMRIC QUOTES:
How difficult is it to find the balance at Texas Motor Speedway since the reconfiguration has made two completely different corners?
“It is extremely difficult to find the balance at Texas. With the new aero package that we have, I believe it may be a bit easier to do that, but there are still a lot of challenges. Turns 1 and 2 are very flat, the backstretch is very fast, and you’re carrying so much speed in Turns 3 and 4 that the balance kind of is what it is. You really have to be able to get back to the throttle and carry a lot of speed through Turns 1 and 2 to have good lap times. If you can’t, it makes for a long day. I’ve been there with the RCR Xfinity Series cars when we keyed in on what we needed and had success. Sometimes we didn’t always get the finish, but boy did we have the speed and driveability we needed. I am really looking forward to this weekend’s race in Texas with Bulwark FR and Wayne Workwear on the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. I’m looking forward to the challenge, because it is risk versus reward – and it can be very rewarding when you get it right.”

Is there anything you can take from Las Vegas to apply to Texas, especially since the new aero package was used there earlier this year?
“I don’t believe you can carry a whole lot over from Las Vegas to prepare for the race at Texas. There are some small things in the speed versus handling aspect of things. Texas is its own animal, but it is still mile-and-a-half racing. Air is still going to be something that everybody is going to try to find. The key will be to make our Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 versatile and have the maneuverability built into it so you can get away from everybody and find your own clean racetrack.”

Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Texas Motor Speedway … In 87 Series starts at the 1.5-mile speedway, RCR has captured five victories with driver Kevin Harvick (2001, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2012). The Welcome, North Carolina, organization has completed 16,283 laps of the 17,165 (94.9 percent) that they have competed. RCR has accumulated three pole awards, 22 top-five and 47 top-10 finishes, led 990 laps and averages a starting position of 11.3 and finishing position of 12.1.

Welcome, Kaz Grala … Kaz Grala will make his first of select NASCAR Xfinity Series starts for RCR this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. Grala will pilot the No. 21 Chevrolet Camaro under the direction of crew chief, Justin Alexander.

Auto Club Review … Tyler Reddick collected his second pole award of the season at Auto Club Speedway. Reddick spent a majority of the race inside of the top-five, until a flat tire sent him down pit road for an unscheduled stop. Luckily, the team was able to recover and take home a fourth-place finish.

The Points … Tyler Reddick remains the current Xfinity Series points leader.

TYLER REDDICK QUOTE:
Are you excited to be heading back to Texas Motor Speedway after finishing second there during last fall’s race?
“I’m definitely looking forward to getting back to Texas Motor Speedway this weekend. That fall race was one I felt like should have been my win that just got away from me. Ultimately, it all worked out since I was able to win the championship a couple weeks later in Miami, but I just feel like that race was mine, so I’ve had Texas circled on my calendar ever since. Even last year’s spring race I had a good run going, staying in the top five, but then had a tire come apart that set us back and off-sequence on our pit strategy. Texas is a place I’ve had a lot of fun at in the past but has been challenging since the repave, so I’m looking forward to getting back to it and trying it again.”

Kaz Grala and the No. 21 HotScream Chevrolet Camaro at Texas Motor Speedway … Kaz Grala will be making his debut start in RCR’s No. 21 Chevrolet Camaro this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. The Boston, Massachusetts native has one previous NASCAR Xfinity Series start and two NASCAR Truck Series starts at Texas Motor Speedway. Grala finished in the top-10 during both of his Truck Series starts at the Fort Worth-based speedway.

About HotScream … HotScream takes two concepts, dessert and spicy food, and combines them to form a product that can only be described as ‘HotScream The Spicy Ice Cream’. By taking ice cream with its cool creaminess and incorporating a spicy swirl, HotScream has created a new taste sensation, one that almost defies one’s own senses. At first, you taste the pureness of the vanilla, followed quickly by the sweetness of one of seven flavor swirls. As you continue to enjoy HotScream, things change: You feel a warming sensation that starts in the back of your mouth, creating a rush that only can come from spicy foods. The warming continues to linger but doesn’t engulf your mouth with fire. Taking another bite, you again taste the cool, creamy vanilla and the respective flavor profile while the heat dissipates, only to come back time and time again. HotScream will be available in Walmart stores from Maine to Texas, ACME Food stores, Big Y, select ShopRites and Stop & Shop in April. For more information, visit .

Meet Grala … Fans have a chance to meet Grala before the green flag waves at Texas Motor Speedway when he stops by the Team Chevy display for a Q&A on Saturday, March 30 beginning at 10:40 a.m. local time.

KAZ GRALA QUOTE:
How does it feel to be making your first start with RCR this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway?
“It has been far too long of an off-season for me, but Texas is finally here. RCR has been off to an impressive start this season, and that gives me a lot of confidence going into this weekend. I’ve been working with my crew chief, Justin Alexander, and the No. 21 HotScream crew over the past couple of weeks preparing for this race, so I feel as ready as I could possibly be, especially considering I haven’t been in a stock car in over four months. This weekend is all about building chemistry with the team and getting reacclimated to the Xfinity cars, but I also don’t think it’s unrealistic to think we can go out there and contend for the win. I’m ready to finally put my helmet back on and get back to doing what I love.”
