Eckes on the Brink of Victory Lane Entering Charlotte

On the Brink … Christian Eckes has been on the brink of returning to victory lane as the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Trucks Series (NCTS) Chase enters round three on Friday at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS). The driver of the No. 91 NAPA Nightvision Chevrolet Silverado RST is fresh off a runner-up finish at Kansas Speedway two weeks ago and was one of the main contenders during the May race at CMS. Eckes looks to transform his presence at the front of the field into a return to the NCTS victory lane on Friday evening and dive into the crux of the championship fight.

All the Right Things … Eckes has done all the right things in seven previous starts at “America’s Home for Racing” across the NASCAR national series. The New York native has collected stage wins and led four of his six NCTS starts at the Queen City’s 1.5-mile track. In 2024, Eckes came within nine laps of victory in his most recent CMS start under the MHR umbrella. He’s led a combined 78 laps at Charlotte in four different races and has collected one top-five and four top-10 finishes in his NCTS career, along with a top-10 in his first NASCAR Xfinity Series start at the track last season. The No. 91 Chevrolet was one of the trucks to beat in the series’ recent outing at Charlotte as Eckes collected the Stage 1 victory and led 33 laps before finishing sixth in the time-shortened event.

Season to Date … The NCTS Chase will finish with a five-race sprint over the next five weeks. Eckes enters Charlotte fifth in the standings, 82 points back of the lead with seven top-five’s and 12 top-10 finishes to his credit through 20 events. He’s recorded 173 laps led, three stage victories, and has an average finish of 13.3. Eckes also leads the NCTS field in pass differential at a staggering +300, 71 more than the next closest driver.

Tune In … Charlotte’s one-day show gets underway Friday with practice and qualifying at 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1. The green flag drops on FOX network at 5:00 p.m. ET. Christian Eckes Quote:

On his outlook entering Charlotte:

“Our No. 91 team wants to break through and win, and we’ve been close to accomplishing that here lately. Our intermediate program has been a lot stronger, for sure. That’s been a point of emphasis for a while and we’re seeing that effort pay off. We need to keep performing at this level each week and put our NAPA Nightvision Chevy in position to win one on Friday. We definitely had the speed back in May and our Silverado RST was really fast in Kansas last week. If we have similar pace on Friday, I know we have the capability to execute and get ourselves back in the mix for this championship.”
