Wright Seeks Strong Finish to Superspeedway Slate
Dixieland Destination… The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) heads to the high banks of Talladega Superspeedway for the midpoint of the final leg of the 2026 season. Kris Wright and the No. 81 Warranty Solutions team at McAnally-Hilgemann Racing (MHR) head into the weekend with optimism following their first two drafting track performances of the season. Wright was battling for a top-10 position coming to the white flag in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway before avoiding a spinning truck directly ahead of him. The following weekend at EchoPark Speedway, Wright brought home the F.N.B. Corporation Chevrolet Silverado RST in 18th. The Pennsylvania native will make his 10th career NASCAR national series start at a drafting track this Friday afternoon at Talladega.
Talladega Teamwork… In 2024, Wright relied on teamwork to secure a career-best second-place finish in the ARCA Menards Series race at Talladega. He will look to work with his MHR teammates to contend for another strong result. MHR will surpass 50 team starts at drafting tracks this weekend across its four entries. Teammate Christian Eckes earned MHR’s only drafting track victory at EchoPark Speedway in 2023 before winning the pole there in 2024. In 2025, MHR qualified all four trucks in the top 10, led by a pole-winning effort from former driver Connor Mosack. In addition to Eckes’ win, MHR has tallied 232 laps led, five top-five finishes and 18 top-10 finishes across the three drafting tracks. Wright and the No. 81 Warranty Solutions team will look to add to those totals and improve on MHR’s best drafting track finish of the 2026 season, a third-place result by Christian Eckes at Daytona.
Season to Date… 22 races are in the books for the No. 81 Warranty Solutions team as they head to Talladega. Wright is coming off a 26th place finish at Phoenix Raceway last week. The Pittsburgh-based driver currently sits 24th in the NCTS standings with six top-20 finishes. Wright carries an average finish of 21.5 at drafting tracks this season and will look to improve upon that number this weekend.
