(Mooresville, NC – September 9, 2015) – Benny Gordon returns to the NASCAR Xfinity Series this weekend to drive the No. 66 SRWR/VSI Toyota Camry at Richmond International Raceway (RIR). The Virginia529 College Savings 250 on September 11, 2015 will mark Gordon’s 4th start in the 2015 season with Performance Energy Group.
“After having alternator issues at Bristol, we’re looking to redeem ourselves at Richmond,” says Driver of the No. 66 Toyota Camry, Benny Gordon. “We had a strong finish at Daytona earlier this season, so I know Performance Energy Group is capable of coming back with another good car.”
Gordon piloted the No. 66 SRWR/VSI Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Talladega Superspeedway, Daytona International Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway during the 2015 season, with his best finish of 5th at Daytona. Friday night’s race will mark Gordon’s third start at RIR.
“I’ve made two starts at this track in 2009, and most of my racing experience comes from short track racing. With that being said, we should be in good shape for this weekend.”
The Virginia529 College Savings 250 will be covered live on NBCSN at 7:30pm ET on September 11, 2015. Two practice sessions will take place on Friday, Sept. 11 at 2pm and 5pm ET, with qualifying beginning at 3:30pm ET. TV coverage will be provided on NBCSN for practice and qualifying.
