CHASTAIN RETURNS TO KENTUCKY

SPARTA, Ky. – Ross Chastain will be looking to improve upon his Kentucky Speedway finish earlier this year when the Xfinity Series races at the 1.5-mile track in Saturday’s VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300.

Chastain finished 20th in the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolet at Kentucky in the series’ first visit this year.

“We’re looking for more this week,” Chastain said. “Kentucky is the sort of mid-range, fast track I like, so we’re hoping to get a good starting spot and race toward the front this week.”

Chastain will be promoting smart seat-belt usage with his Chevrolet carrying the “Protect Your Melon” message in Saturday’s race.

Chastain is 13th in Xfinity points entering the 200-lapper.

Practice is scheduled at 3:30 and 6 p.m. (ET) Friday. Qualifying is set for 4:45 p.m. Saturday, with the race to follow at 8 p.m.
