Timothy Peters Talks about Dover International Speedway

What makes Dover a unique track on the Truck Series schedule?

“It is a one of a kind track. The high speed you carry going into turn one makes it feel like you are driving off a cliff. The track is configured for very intense racing. I consider it much like Darlington; it is one of those race tracks where you have to race the race track more than you do other competitors. The one thing about Dover is you need to give really good feedback to your team. If your truck is too loose or too tight you’re going to have a long day.”

Although you say Dover as one of your favorite tracks, evening naming your dog after the “Monster Mile,” you have yet to score a win there. What is it going to take to get to victory lane?

“I think in order to win the race this weekend you are going to have to start up front. The one thing we are really focused on is adapting to changing track conditions. In the past the race track has tended to tighten up. We are going to build some adaptability into our No. 17 Toyota Tundra.”

What do you do during the off weeks in between races? Are you looking forward to going to the race track weekly in July and August or do you like the breaks in the schedule?

“I’d rather race all the time. If I had my pick I’d be in a race vehicle each and every weekend!”
