WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. – Ross Chastain is ready to go road racing.

Chastain will drive the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller No. 4 Chevrolet, with sponsorship from Taughannock Aviation and the Ithaca-Tompkins Regional Airport, in Saturday’s Zippo 200 Xfinity Series race at Watkins Glen International.

The race is the first of three road-course events scheduled for Xfinity drivers this season.

“We’ve got three road-course races all coming up this month, so we’ve got to be ready for a different kind of racing,” Chastain said. “It’s always a new sort of challenge for me, but I think I’m up for it.”

The Glen course has been repaved since NASCAR last visited, adding to the challenge.

Because of the repave, teams have additional practice time this week. Sessions are scheduled at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday. Qualifying is set for 4:45 p.m. Friday, with the race green flag set for 2 p.m. Saturday.
