Kenseth on racing at Kansas Speedway:
“One of the aspects about Kansas that makes it a little different is the pavement, and how the surface has started to wear out over the years, which is a good thing for us when we’re racing. It’s important to have good balance on new tires in order for our EcoBoost Ford to still be good at the end of a run. We work hard during practices to make sure that our car drives well through the whole run at Kansas. Kansas is a track where cars can be aero-tight so you want to make sure that you have all of the handling the best it can be for the race so that you’re able to pass for position when you need to.”
Crew chief Jimmy Fennig on racing at Kansas Speedway:
“This weekend at Kansas we’re going to work on qualifying set-ups during practice because we want to start up front of course. The track surface at Kansas is a bit bumpy, so we’ll work on making sure that our EcoBoost Ford can go through the bumps and turn through the middle of the corners. Lately we’ve been struggling with that handling in the turns, but we feel like we found some things at Texas last weekend that should help us this weekend, so I’m hoping for another good run for this No. 17 team on Sunday.”
