Two of Seven … Tyler Ankrum, driver of the No. 18 LIUNA Chevrolet is headed out to the Mid-West for the second NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series event of “The Chase” at Kansas Speedway. Coming off a hard-fought 13th-place finish at Bristol Motor Speedway, the San Bernardino, Calif. native still sits in the 10th position of the playoff drivers. A tough day in Bristol, Tenn. last week was not what the No. 18 team was hoping for to start out the last of the seven races. They look to improve on these efforts this Saturday afternoon for the Race To Stop Suicide 200 in Kansas.
Kansas History … Kansas Speedway has been a familiar stop throughout Ankrum’s truck series career, with Saturday’s race marking his 13th start at the 1.5-mile facility. The driver of the No. 18 Chevrolet has 12 previous Kansas starts on his career resume, giving him plenty of experience navigating the track’s progressive surface and unique racing lines. Within those 12 previous starts, the young driver has rallied to two top-10 results back in 2023. While his most recent trip to the Sunflower State resulted in a 16th-place finish in 2025, “The Chase” driver will battle to the finish to snag some stage points and have a solid day in the second race of the NCTS playoffs.
Spoiler Highlights … Tyler Ankrum and the No. 18 team are happy to welcome the HOPE LIVES campaign to adorn the left-side spoiler of the No. 18 LIUNA Chevrolet for the Saturday afternoon 134-lap NCTS event. September is National Suicide Awareness Month and Ankrum has partnered with LIUNA and the New York State Laborers Health and Safety Trust Fund to spread awareness. The HOPE LIVES campaign by LIUNA focuses on mental health awareness and support for its members. Launched by the New York State Laborers Health and Safety Trust Fund, this initiative aims to address mental health issues within the construction industry, emphasizing the importance of mental well-being and providing resources for those in need.

We need to pull together a better day than Bristol for sure but we have had a ton of speed at Kansas in the past so I have no doubt Mark (Hillman, crew chief) and the guys have put together a good piece for Saturday.”
