RCR NOAPS Race Recap: Homestead-Miami Speedway

Jesse Love and the No. 2 Whelen Chevrolet Team Close Out 2026 Season with Strong Fourth-Place Showing at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Ultimately Finishing Second in the Point Standings

Finish: 4th
Start: 4th
Points: 2nd

“There are a 1,000 different things that could have gone differently to gain us 15 points so at the end of the day, it stings to finish second in the point standings. It’s a painful thing to go through, losing the championship, and it being so close. Unfortunately, with the caution, the pit cycle and having those couple laps on our tires, that was enough to probably do us in tonight. I was obviously upset getting out of the car, but when I get to be around our group of guys on the No. 2 Whelen Chevrolet, I feel a lot more happiness and gratefulness and it helps with the sting of the loss. This has been a big chapter of my life over the last three years that I’m going to miss tremendously. I’ll always be extremely grateful for my time at RCR. While it hurts now, I know that I come back stronger from these things and I’ll put my best foot forward and not make excuses for it. I’m just taking the best version of myself coming back.” -Jesse Love

Bittersweet Top-10 Finish for Austin Hill and the No. 21 Bennett Transportation & Logistics Chevrolet Team at Homestead-Miami Speedway

Finish: 8th
Start: 2nd
Points: 10th

“Bittersweet ending for our No. 21 group. Racing with this team for the last five years has been the most fun I’ve had in my career and while I’m excited to be full time in the Cup Series next year, I’m going to miss battling with these guys every Saturday. We had a solid practice session yesterday and qualifying exceeded our expectations earlier today. Thought that was going to bode well for our Bennett Transportation & Logistics Chevrolet, but our balance was a little off. At one point, we were tight off the fence in Turns 3 and 4, but Chad (Haney, crew chief) helped that with an adjustment. Then we were out of the track in Turn 1 which made it hard to the attack the corner. All in all, we finished it out with another top-10 finish. Proud of these guys for never giving up all year long.” -Austin Hill
