How good was your GR Supra that allowed you to get the win at the end tonight?
“There were so many cool positives out of today. First off, knocking Toyota’s 700th win out of the park. I’ve gotten a couple milestones for this group a few times. It’s so cool to be a part of these big moments for this company. The truck guys did it yesterday and did a phenomenal job so I’m really hoping the Cup guys pull through, and we can sweep this weekend up. I can say that we weren’t the best car to begin this race. We were capable of running inside the top five and top 10 and we just consistently made better gains on the car all night long. Our long run pace was really out strong suit tonight. Our short run, I thought we needed to catch up some, but this track can produce some long runs. We saw it tonight and we saw it in the Truck Series. Luckily, it played out for us. I know for the fans maybe not super exciting to watch us single file but oh my gosh, there’s so much work going on inside the car. Just an incredible way to cap the year off. I’m so happy to get Menards back in victory lane. I’m so thankful for John and everyone there at Menards and everyone at Tuscany. I’m looking forward to having a couple months off. I couldn’t ask for a better way to end the year.”
BRENT CREWS, No. 19 YoungLife Toyota GR Supra, Joe Gibbs Racing
Finishing Position: 3rd
Can you talk about your rookie season in the series and earning Rookie of the Year honors?
“It was a lot of fun. I learned a lot. Obviously, I thought I would’ve been in victory lane at least once, but I’m proud of this group. We have a lot to prove next year and I’m excited to be back. This is one of the first years I think I haven’t ever won in a season so I’m ready to get back in the track at Daytona in February. I’m super grateful to have all these great people on the side of my car. Everybody at YoungLife. It’s such a blessing to be able to spread the word of Jesus Christ doing what I love in racing. And Mobil 1 and everybody from Toyota and JGR have done a great job this year and we’ve got a lot to accomplish next year.”
