Ryan Blaney (No. 19 Cooper Standard RAM) Finished 6th “Our Cooper Standard RAM ran really well. We just really couldn’t get breaks. We could never line up on the top and that’s really where you needed to be. You just couldn’t pass anyone low; I don’t care how good you were. The leaders couldn’t even get past lapped trucks trying to pass ‘em low. It was really important to start on the high side and try to get position up there but once everything thinned out everyone was running the top so it just kind of evened out. I found some pretty good grip way up at the top of one and two and I could sneak around the top of some guys. We got our RAM really good there at the end. I thought we were coming really good and really didn’t need those last cautions. I think we would have been okay. On the long runs we would eventually mow guys down but like I said we could never line up on the right side.”

WITH 50 LAPS TO GO YOU MADE A PIT STOP FOR TIRES. DID THAT WORK TO YOUR ADVANTAGE? “I thought that was a big help. We only lost four spots making the stop and I thought it was a good call. That definitely got us up through the field good and they had a chance to make the truck better. I definitely think waiting longer and coming in and taking tires was the ticket but like I said you had to be in that top lane on restarts.”

HOW DIFFERENT WAS THE TRACK TONIGHT VERSUS HERE IN THE SPRING? “To be honest, not that much different. We were as high up tonight as we were in the spring so I think it was just a little bit rougher (smiles). And it might actually be harder to pass on the bottom now. I kind of liked it the way it was before but it wasn’t too much different.”

Brad Keselowski (No. 29 Reese Towpower RAM) Finished 25th YOU HAD A CHANCE TO WIN THIS RACE BUT HAD TROUBLE ON THE LAST TWO RESTARTS. WHAT HAPPENED? “It just kept running out of gas. I just saw a replay and the 33 (Cale Gale) got caught up in it. I thought maybe the first time I ran out of gas I just hadn’t swerved our RAM enough to keep it full of fuel. On the last restart I didn’t the chance. It ran out of fuel so I don’t know; really confusing. I should have had a good 30 or 40 laps of fuel left. Something happened so we’ll have to go back and figure out what it was. We had a pretty good day going. I think the Red Horse trucks were just a touch faster but everybody on the BKR team worked hard to get the best we could out of it and keep ‘em honest. Timothy (Peters) did a great job to get him a win but we really wanted to win today, just came up a bit short.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE SIXTH-PLACE FINISH BY RYAN BLANEY? “I’m thrilled for Ryan. It was a great day for him. You run sixth in your first Truck start at Bristol you’ve earned it so good for him.”
