MOORESVILLE, NC – September 26, 2012 –The SS Green Light Racing team heads to Las Vegas this Saturday looking to add some additional excitement to the Entertainment Capitol of the World. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series rookie contender Ross Chastain will pilot the SS Green Light Racing No. 08 Toyota and the Florida teen is hoping for some of that famous Las Vegas Luck to shine upon the team as they head to the Smith’s 350 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The Las Vegas Motor Speedway features the Neon Garage; one of the most fan-friendly tracks that the NCWTS visits each year and this year is no different with many activities planned for the weekend including an autograph session on Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the NCWTS qualifying.
The Smith’s 350 is the 287th consecutive NCWTS start for the SS Green Light Racing team and the twenty-second career start for Chastain in the Truck Series. Ross is fifteenth in the NCWTS point standings and has three top-ten finishes in sixteen starts 2012 including a career best third at Bristol on August 22nd.
There are only 33 trucks on the entry list for the Smith’s 350 which will run as part of a double-header along with Sylvania SilverStar zXe Las Vegas Global RallyCross Championship at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Johnny Chapman will pilot the Wear Your Gear/Bobber.info No. 07 for SS Green Light Racing on Saturday evening.
This will be Chastain’s first start at the fast mile and a half speedway which is just miles from the world famous “Las Vegas Strip.” The Riveria Casino and Hotel will be an Associate Sponsor again for SS Green Light Racing in Las Vegas with decals on both the No. 08 and No. 07 trucks. Ross and Johnny will both participate in an special autograph session at the Riviera Casino & Hotel on Thursday night, September 27th at 6:30 p.m.
A single practice for the Smith’s 350 will be Friday, September 28th from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with will be two laps of qualifying at 8:35 p.m. The green flag will fly in the Smith’s 350 on Saturday September 29th at 5:30 p.m. All times Pacific. The race will be shown live on SPEED TV and will also be broadcast live via on the Motor Racing Network and on SIRIUS Satellite Radio NASCAR Channel 128-XM104.
