KANSAS SPEEDWAY RACE PREVIEW

Michael Annett • No. 43 EFS Ford Mustang

Michael Annett has three starts in the Nationwide Series at Kansas Speedway

Annett enters this weekend’s event in fifth place in the Nationwide point standings

Electronic Funds Source (EFS) will be the primary partner on Annett’s No. 43

Michael Annett on Having a New Primary Partner in Kansas: “We are proud to have EFS join our team this weekend in Kansas. EFS provides transportation companies with fuel cards and other convenient payment solutions when their fleets are on the go. As a race team, we know the importance of convenience, being on the road all of the time. EFS cards are accepted at thousands of locations across North America, including hundreds of Pilot/Flying J locations. We’ve got a really cool EFS paint scheme on the No. 43 this weekend and I’m going to do my best to run up front and show it off.”

Annett on Racing at Kansas: “I’m excited to go to Kansas. It will be the first time for me to race there with my Richard Petty Motorsports team. It will be interesting to see how the track has changed with the new configuration they did this summer. We’ve got a lot of practice time on Thursday, so hopefully we will be able to get a good setup figured out for the race on Saturday. We’ve got some momentum going into this weekend after moving to fifth in the points with our 10th-place finish last weekend in Charlotte. We want a spot on the banquet stage at the end of the year, and we hope to increase our points lead even more over sixth place this weekend.”

Crew Chief Philippe Lopez’s Thoughts on Kansas: “With the new track surface we’ll have a little bit of guess work on where we’ll need to be based on previous tire testing. We are going to use Thursday to run through our established setups for intermediate tracks and then we are going to try a few things out of the box. We are focusing on the points and our quest to get a win before the season is over. We’ve got four races left, and I’m not saying we are going to step out of the box, but we are going to start pushing the envelope a little bit so we can get the results we want before the end of the year.”

Paint Scheme: Annett will have a different look this weekend as EFS will be the primary partner on the No. 43 Ford Mustang at Kansas Speedway.
