ADVANCE NOTES

·        Biffle at Martinsville

o   Biffle has 20 Sprint Cup Series starts at Martinsville.  In those starts he has earned three top-10 finishes, including one last fall during the Chase.  The team is returning this weekend with that same chassis.

·        The Car

o   Chassis RK-822 was brand new when it kicked off the 2012 Chase for Biffle at Richmond earning him a ninth-place finish.  The team then took the same car to Loudon last fall, but had to settle for an 18th-place finish.  RK-822 finished out 2012 with a 10th-place finish at Martinsville and will once again be back on track this weekend.

Biffle on Martinsville:

“Martinsville is obviously not one of my best race tracks, but over the last couple of years we’ve gotten a lot better with top-10 finishes.  Now we need to step it up and get a top-five finish.  Our brakes have been good, tractions been good and the cars are working better.  Our goal is a top-five finish at Martinsville this Sunday.”

Puccia on Martinsville:

“We’ve worked hard on our short-track program and we had a decent run at Martinsville in the fall and learned a bunch.  Martinsville is all about survival, avoiding wrecks and being easy on the brakes.  You’ve got to accomplish all that in order to run 500 laps to be there at the end.”
