ADVANCE NOTES

·         Stenhouse Jr. at Talladega

o   When the red flag was displayed for rain, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was second behind teammate Carl Edwards when the cars were stopped on pit road. Once the track was dry the rookie lined up in the fifth position for the final green-white-checkered finish but the inside lane stalled on forward progress forcing him to settle for a 13th-place finish.

o   In three superspeedway races this Sprint Cup season, Stenhouse Jr. has finished 13th or better in all three starts.

·         The Car

o   Chassis RK-830 is the same chassis that the No.17 team ran at Talladega in the spring finishing 13th after a lengthy rain delay.

o   The backup Chassis RK-799 was a chassis that the No. 17 tested with at Daytona in the preseason.

Stenhouse Jr. on Talladega:

“We led there earlier in the spring and were second when the red flag was displayed for rain. We’ve been solid this year at Superspeedways so I feel confident that we will have a strong showing in our Nationwide Insurance Ford. The Superspeedway races are always known for the ‘big one’ so we will figure out our strategy and hopefully put ourselves in position to go for the win at the end.”

Scott Graves on Talladega:

“We are bringing the same car that we had a solid run with in the spring, so we know it has speed. We’ve been strong this year at Superspeedways. There is always a multi-car accident and you just hope that you aren’t part of it. The big decision is to run upfront or to drop to the back and then make your way to up front at the end. You’ve got to be in position at the end to go for the win.”
