Voting Open for Series Fan Favorite Driver Award
INDIANAPOLIS (Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014) – INDYCAR and series title sponsor Verizon will celebrate the drama and excitement of the final races of the 2014 season through the #INDYRIVALS social media campaign and the Verizon IndyCar Series Fan Favorite Driver Award. Polls opened for voting on Aug. 7.
The engagement around #INDYRIVALS will unify the social media conversation amongst fans, teams and drivers, heading into the final three races of the season. Fans can be a part of the action by including #INDYRIVALS and #sweeps in all of their INDYCAR conversations on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Fans can visit INDYRIVALS.com and vote daily for their favorite driver in the Verizon IndyCar Series Fan Favorite Driver Award. Fans can also make predictions as to who will be the 2014 Verizon IndyCar Series Champion. The Favorite Driver Award will be presented at the INDYCAR Championship Celebration to the driver who receives the most votes by the time the green flag waves at the MAVTV 500 at Auto Club Speedway on Aug. 30.
Five fans who cast their vote for Fan Favorite Driver will be randomly selected to win a weekly Verizon technology prize pack that includes: a GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition, SMS Audio Headphones, a Fitbit® activity band, a Samsung Galaxy Gear – Note 3, a Samsung Galaxy Note – 2014 Edition, and a Parrot AR Drone 2.0.
Additionally, daily prizes will be awarded to fans using #INDYRIVALS #sweeps in their posts. Giveaways will include: autographed mini-helmets and portable iHome speakers.
