Auto Club 400 | March 22, 2015

California Dreaming…The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) hits its last of three races in a row out west this weekend at Auto Club Speedway (ACS). Justin Allgaier will make his second NSCS start at the Ontario, Calif. track this weekend. ACS is the first 2.0-mile track the NSCS will race on this season. Allgaier started and finished in the 28th position, after blowing a tire in his first NSCS start at ACS last year. He also has seven starts in the NASCAR XFINITY Series at ACS, with two top-10 finishes along with three laps led.

National Agriculture Day…March 18, 2015 is National Agriculture Day, supported by the Agriculture Council of America. Ag Day promotes how food and renewable resources are produced, the role agriculture plays in the economy and career opportunities in the agriculture industry. The No. 51 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevy is supported by several other ag-based companies, highlighted on the decklid – BRANDT iHammer, Grigg Brothers, Monterey Lawn and Garden, National FFA Organization, Nutrients for Life Foundation, Precision Tank & Equipment and TradeMark Nitrogen.

See Justin…On Sunday, March 22 from 8:45 – 9:00 a.m. local time, Allgaier will appear for a Q&A at the Team Chevy stage located in the ACS fan midway.

Phoenix Race Recap…Allgaier qualified 28th for his third NSCS race at Phoenix International Raceway, after a competitor pulled out in front of him hindering his lap. Allgaier didn’t let his starting position foil his weekend at the 1.0-mile track. He was able to pass cars on a hot and slick track throughout the race to work his way up to the 10th spot. After battling in the top 10 late in the race, Allgaier ultimately finished 18th in the BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevy for HScott Motorsports.

Justin Allgaier on Auto Club Speedway:

“I can’t wait to get back to the track this weekend. After having a great weekend at Phoenix [International Raceway], I’m really looking forward to building on it this weekend at Auto Club [Speedway]. I’ve always really liked Auto Club because it’s a fast and a multi-grooved track. Obviously, with more grooves it gives us drivers the opportunity to search around the track for the best line for our cars to run. The weather will be warm this weekend, so it’ll be a slick track, which I favor.

Crew Chief Steve Addington on Auto Club Speedway:

“I think Justin has a lot of confidence going into this weekend at Auto Club [Speedway] after last weekend. He had a good handle on the track last year during the race, but unfortunately we had a tire failure. We have a good set of notes to work from this weekend, and we will continue to take it slow and steady. I expect us to have a really good weekend with the BRANDT Chevy.”
