RAHAL AND SERVIA CONTINUED TO GAIN EXPERIENCE WITH NEW AERO KIT IN PRACTICE 2 FOR THE INDY 500

1)         Helio Castroneves    227.514 mph  72 laps

15)       Graham Rahal           225.271 mph  69 laps

21)       Oriol Servia               224.179 mph  82 laps

GRAHAM RAHAL, No. 15 Steak ‘n Shake Dallara/Honda/Firestone:  “All in all it was a really good day. We worked on the Steak ‘n Shake car and really improved it a lot. Like I keep saying, I think the guys are doing an excellent job and working through a lot of things here and the car already feels a heck of a lot better than it ever did the last couple of years. I’m pretty happy with it but we’ve got to keep working to catch those Penske’s. They’re obviously pretty quick and we’ve just got to do the best that we can to keep up with them and be competitive and keep improving the car over time. We’ve got a long ways to go here so there is no reason for anyone to panic. The car feels pretty good in race trim.”

FAST FACTS: Will be his eighth Indy 500 and fourth with RLL. His best qualifying position in the Indy 500 is fourth in 2009 with Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing and best finish is third with Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing in 2011 after he led six laps. He ran in the top-five in four of his seven previous races here… He is tied for fourth in series point standings with Scott Dixon with a total of 144 and is only 27 points out of first place (Juan Pablo Montoya, 177).

ORIOL SERVIA, No. 32 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone:  “It was more comfortable in the car because we were able to reduce under steer compared to yesterday, and improve the rear end which is exactly what the driver usually wants from the car. I think we were in the top five on the no tow report so I think we are looking good. It’s only Tuesday so there are still a lot of things to try and a lot of days ahead to do things right but I’m quite happy with where we are today.”

FAST FACTS: Will be his seventh Indy 500 and third with RLL. His best finish here is fourth in 2012 with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing and best start in 2011 with Newman/Haas Racing.

NEXT UP:  Practice resumes tomorrow from 12-6 p.m. ET.
