CHASTAIN, IOWA A GOOD FIT

NEWTON, Iowa – Ross Chastain returns to Iowa Speedway this weekend carrying a strong history at one of NASCAR’s best short tracks.Chastain, who will drive the JD Motorsports No. 4 Chevrolet in Sunday’s 3M 250 Xfinity Series race, will be making his series debut at Iowa, but he’s very familiar with the track.

Chastain has raced four times in the Camping World Truck Series at the seven-eighths-mile track. One of the highlights of his young career occurred there in 2013 when he finished second after leading 116 of the 200 laps.

“Iowa is one of the best short tracks anywhere,” Chastain said. “It’s easy, but it’s hard, too – easy to go fast but hard to get your car exactly like you want it for the long haul. I’m looking forward to running there again.”Chastain, in his rookie season, sits 14th in driver points entering the 10th race of the year.

Practice is scheduled at Iowa at 10 a.m. and noon (ET) Saturday, with qualifying set for 5:45 p.m. The race, a rare Sunday start for the series, is set for 2 p.m.
