Pocono Raceway to honor military with multiple events and activities during Pocono 400 weekend

Pocono Raceway and their Department of Military Affairs will honor the United States Armed Forces throughout the Pocono 400 race weekend. Additionally, ‘The Tricky Triangle’ has unveiled a new Department of Military Affairs logo which was submitted and designed by a Pocono Raceway fan.

Laiken Baumgartner Crowned 2018 Miss Hooters International

Douglasville, Georgia Hooters Girl, Laiken Baumgartner, claimed top honor Saturday night at the 22nd Annual Hooters International Pageant, the first to be open to the public and held at the zMAX Dragway across from Charlotte Motor Speedway, taking home the exclusive 2018 Miss Hooters International title. Laiken was selected from a field of 80 of the most exceptional Hooters Girls from across the U.S. and around the world.

Kahne Finishes 20th Sunday Night in Charlotte

It was a hard-fought battle under the lights at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the running of the Coca Cola 600. The No.95 Thorne Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 sported a unique Vietnam-era Huey helicopter inspired Thorne paint scheme. The team was honored to represent US Army fallen soldier, Specialist Rudy Acosta, who served in the 4th Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment in Afghanistan.

Brad Keselowski started fifth in the 400-lap event and faced adversity early in the race. He wrestled a loose handling Stars, Stripes and Lites Ford during Stage 1 and lost track position when he missed his pit stall during a sequence of stops under caution on lap 85. In an effort score stage points, he remained on the track for the final 12 laps of the segment but was no match for those on fresher tires, finishing Stage 1 in 26th position.
