Ty Majeski had a solid run going late in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Charlotte, but a series of misfortunes spoiled what looked to be a solid finish as he crossed the stripe 22nd.

Christopher Bell (third) was the highest-finishing Toyota driver in Saturday afternoon’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Ty Dillon Scores Fourth-Place Finish in Nexium 24HR Chevrolet at Charlotte Motor Speedway "Our Nexium 24HR Chevrolet was incredibly fast this weekend. We unloaded with speed on Thursday, and I was able to get a lot out of this thing as we adjusted throughout practice. Our Camaro was loose during the race today, but there was a lot of speed."

BRAD KESELOWSKI, No. 22 Fitzgerald Glider Kits Ford Mustang – THIS IS YOUR 30TH SERIES WIN. THOUGHTS ON GOING TO OVERTIME? “It’s a lot to talk about from today. It’s hard to pick a place to start, to be quite honest. It’s kind of an eventful day from the rain and everything that happened there. Strategies, the car handling and things going on this week with Roger and the Hall of Fame, but so far it’s been a great week and I couldn’t ask for a much better start for Memorial Day Weekend than to bring home a win. I’m really proud of everyone on the team, Brian here and the sponsors, Fitzgerald Gliders and Ford for the car that was well-prepared and in a spot to be able to execute a day like today, but I think it was definitely a perseverance day. It was brutally hot out there. The humidity was just killer. I don’t usually get that hot in a race car, but it was smoking out there. There were a couple times where I swear the inside of the car was burning from the water and the humidity, but that’s just part of the challenge of racing on days like this and glad to bring it home first, that’s for sure.”

RODNEY CHILDERS, Crew Chief, No. 4 Mobil 1/Busch Ford Fusion – CAN YOU EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED AND WHY YOU DIDN’T GET THROUGH INSPECTION? “I think it’s something that’s been building throughout the year and at some point you had to get back control of it. There were some things in the garage that basically the template side of it wasn’t getting used and straight edges weren’t getting used and we were just purely going off the OSS, and that was fine until it somewhat starts getting out of hand."

RYAN NEWMAN, NO. 31 LIBERTY NATIONAL CAMARO ZL1 – Qualified 6th - ON HIS QUALIFYING EFFORT: “It was a good run for our Liberty National Chevrolet Camaro. The guys did a good job of making it better all day today. They worked really hard on this race car back at the shop. The guys at ECR did a good job. We have still got some gap to close no doubt about that. The No. 18 (Kyle Busch) has been a very dominant car both here and other race tracks in qualifying. Huge improvement for us from where we have been and most recently our 1.5-mile test at Kentucky. Just look forward to building upon this and having a car that drives good for 600 miles because that will make my shoulders and my knees run a little bit cooler.”

DARRELL ‘BUBBA’ WALLACE, JR., NO. 43 KROGER/COCA-COLA CAMARO ZL1, met with members of the media at Charlotte Motor Speedway and discussed his time spent at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the Summer Shootout Series, his thoughts on how his rookie season is going thus far, his chances in the Coca-Cole 600 and many other topics. DANIEL SUÁREZ, No. 19 Interstate Batteries Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing - You’ve had strong performances here recently, does that give you confidence heading into Sunday’s race? “Yeah, for sure. You know Charlotte has been a good place for me. I don’t know, it’s just one of those places that for whatever reason you feel comfortable and you get good results and seems like you build from that and actually today so far, obviously just one practice – three runs actually, that’s exactly what my team did and the car felt pretty good."

Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford Fusion, has one win in 2018 and is one of seven Ford drivers in the Top 10 of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series standings. He stopped by the Charlotte Motor Speedway infield media center after practice to talk about this weekend’s race.

BRAD KESELOWSKI, No. 2 Stars Stripes and Lites Ford Fusion – “We’re glad to be here in Charlotte for race weeks. Of course, the Coke 600 is a little bit more of a special race week, I think for a number of reasons with respect to the race being so long and kind of being a crown jewel. But also with respect to Memorial Day Weekend and some of the history of our sport – you guys in the room know how this all works, but with respect to NASCAR and a lot of its founding members, coming back from World War II and founding this sport it’s created a strong legacy and tie-in to our military and I think that year over year NASCAR puts a lot of effort collectively from the tracks, the teams, the sanctioning body and even some of the sponsors to honoring that legacy and this year is no different.
