The partnership between Team Penske and Fitzgerald Glider Kits will continue to grow in 2018, as the team announced today that Fitzgerald will become the primary sponsor on the championship-winning No. 22 Ford Mustang for the majority of next season’s NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) races.
As the 2017 season comes to a close, so does the time on the track for the Chevy SS. The SS made its on-track debut in 2013 during speed weeks in Daytona, winning the first points paying race as Jimmie Johnson took the SS to winner’s circle in the season-opening Daytona 500. Since then, the SS has gone on to win 72 more races, making it the most successful Generation-6 NASCAR race car over its competitors. The SS has carried two drivers to season-ending championship titles including Johnson to his record-tying seventh. With its stylized features and authentic showroom to race track rear-wheel drive, the SS will hold special memories over its six-year run as Chevy’s flagship in the NASCAR Cup Series. Its successor, the all-new 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has big shoes to fill as it makes its way into the Cup Series next season.
Hendrick Motorsports drivers have earned two wins, three pole positions, 14 top-five finishes and 29 top-10s at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The first win came courtesy of Jeff Gordon in 2012 when he led the final 13 laps of the race en route to Victory Lane.
Homestead-Miami Speedway is in championship form and all eyes are set on South Florida, as the track and the local community are ready to welcome fans from all 50 states and more than 20 countries to Ford Championship Weekend, November 17-19.
Bayne will make his seventh career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) start at Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend. Bayne’s previous best finish at Homestead is 18th in the Nov. 2015 MENCS event.

Homestead-Miami Speedway is one of the few race tracks where team owner Richard Childress has yet to earn a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victory. Richard Childress Racing entries have finished second on four occasions: 2003 (Kevin Harvick), 2008 (Harvick), 2009 (Jeff Burton) and 2014 (Ryan Newman). In 57 starts, RCR has earned nine top-five and 23 top-10 finishes at the 1.5-mile, progressively-banked oval with drivers Dave Blaney, Clint Bowyer, Burton, Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Green, Harvick, Newman, Paul Menard and Mike Skinner. Kentucky Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway are the other tracks on the current Cup Series schedule where RCR is still on the hunt for hardware.
