Charlotte Recap: Denny Hamlin finished fifth in Sunday’s rain delayed Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, overcoming a pit road speeding penalty early in the race to score a top-five finish and notch a Stage win. After securing the Stage 3 win, Hamlin led the field to the green flag for the start of the race’s final 100-lap segment, but he was shuffled into the middle of a three-wide during the restart that relegated him to the seventh position.

“Dover is a really challenging track. On the long runs there is a lot of rubber that builds up on top of the track and you have to watch for spinning your tires. It’s a very physically demanding track and we’ve run pretty good there the last few races, so I’m looking forward to it.”

Fast aggressive track: "Dover International Speedway is a place I’ve always had much love for in the past and for years it suited my style,” Allmendinger said. “It's such a fast racetrack where you've really got to have the back of your car under you to be aggressive with the track. I’m hoping we can get a good handle on the track, have a great run there and finish strong. We need some good luck on our side.”
Last year, Dover marked a turning point in the season for Johnny Sauter after failing to finish inside the top 15 following his win in the season opener at Daytona. He finished fourth at Dover and only finished outside the top 10 once in the remaining 18 races (Eldora, 13th-place finish) to earn the 2016 NCWTS championship.

In seven career starts in the XFINTIY Series at “The Monster Mile,” Bayne has recorded two top-five finishes, six top-10 finishes and has an average finish of 9.3. His best finish of second came in the May 2014 event at the one-mile oval.
Stenhouse has nine career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) starts at Dover with an average starting position of 18.7 and average finishing position of 19.1.
This weekend’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Dover International Speedway marks Ryan Reed’s seventh start at the Monster Mile. In his six previous starts, Reed’s best finish of 10th came in the fall event last year. Prior to that, Reed’s best finish had been 11th in the spring event in 2015.
