Dover International Speedway has started two construction projects which will add more than 500 feet of SAFER barriers around the track and increase usable space for NASCAR haulers in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garage.
Chris Buescher, driver of the No. 34 Love’s Travel Stops Ford Fusion, comes into this weekend trailing David Ragan by three points for 30th-place in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings. After his win at Pocono Raceway, Buescher needs to finish 30th or better to qualify for the Chase, which starts in five weeks at Chicagoland Speedway. Buescher visited the infield media center at Bristol Motor Speedway this morning to talk about his situation.

“There is nowhere else in the country, at any racetrack, where you have the atmosphere like you have at Bristol. To have that many people surrounding a racetrack of that size, you just don’t get that anywhere else.
“The Bristol night race is one that has always been circled on everybody’s list as a race that they want to win. I think when you look at Bristol, it’s probably become harder than it used to be to pass, just for the fact that you run up against the wall.
“I’ve liked Bristol since I went there the first time. I remember when I set foot onto that track, it was the day before, it was load-in day and I looked out there and you’re standing on the straightaway, but it sure seems like a corner.
"Bristol is one of those tracks I get a little extra pumped up for. For me, I think that feeling gets a little stronger when you’re talking about the night race at Bristol. There’s just something special about that race.
Travis Kvapil and the High Country Grizzlies have partnered for the Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway. The Grizzlies will be the primary sponsor on the No. 15 Ford Mustang for Friday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race. Travis Kvapil has a total of 22 starts across the three NASCAR National series.
