Auto Club Speedway announced today that Super Bowl Champion John Lynch will be behind the wheel of the Official NASCAR 2016 Toyota Camry Pace Car as he leads the field of 39 stock cars before the start of the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway on Sunday, March 20, at 12:30 p.m. PT/3:30 p.m. ET, televised on FOX.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr., driver of the No. 17 Fastenal Ford Fusion, comes into this weekend’s race 18th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings after a tire issue forced him to the garage early last week at Phoenix International Raceway. The 37th-place finish dropped him seven spots in the standings, but he’s optimistic that he and his team will bounce back in Sunday’s Auto Club 400.
