Ryan Reed’s Mustang Features #IDriveMyHealth Paint Scheme

CONCORD, N.C (Nov. 8, 2016) – Throughout the course of the 2016 season, Ryan Reed and the Drive to Stop DiabetesSM program have encouraged fans to share on social media the ways that they stay healthy and active using #IDriveMyHealth.

This weekend at Phoenix International Raceway, Reed’s No. 16 Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association Ford Mustang will feature a special #IDriveMyHealth paint scheme, highlighting those fan submissions.

“There’s so much that goes into successfully managing your health and managing diabetes,” said Reed.  “It’s so cool to see the different ways that people stay active and healthy, and I’m excited to feature them on our No. 16 Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association Ford this weekend.  With November being American Diabetes Month®, it’s a great time to draw extra attention to the #IDriveMyHealth program.”

Reed currently ranks sixth on the NXS Chase Grid as the series enters this weekend’s race at Phoenix, a track where Reed has seven previous NXS starts, with a best finish of 13th coming in 2015.

In 2011, Reed was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and told he would never get behind the wheel of a race car again.  Five years later, Reed is not only a winner at the famed Daytona International Speedway, but is also a Championship contender in the first-ever NXS Chase.

Reed and the rest of the NXS will take the green flag at Phoenix International Speedway on Saturday at Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
