NASCAR racing returned to their roots with Darlington Raceway returning to Labor Day weekend and the track celebrated the return with a 70’s “throwback” weekend. Greg Biffle’s Ortho Ford took on a throwback scheme in honor of the weekend and led the first of two practice sessions.

Roush Fenway Racing driver Ryan Reed and the No. 16 Lilly Diabetes American Diabetes Association team finished 23rd on Saturday at Darlington Raceway after blowing a right-front tire with under 15 laps to go in the race.
Roush Fenway Racing’s Elliott Sadler finished 11th during Saturday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) race at Darlington Raceway. Sadler got off to a slow start when his morning had a quick speed bump in NXS qualifying.
The tricky old Darlington Raceway has a well-deserved reputation of being the “Track Too Tough To Tame” but rookie Ryan Blaney and his No. 21 Snap-on Ford team are doing a commendable job of figuring it out.
Brian Scott finished 12th and was the highest finishing Richard Childress Racing driver at Darlington Raceway. Brendan Gaughan finished 13th, Ty Dillon 15th and Paul Menard was 25th.
