Martin Truex Jr. came on strong to finish second in Sunday's Kobalt 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Biffle started 16th and searched for front turn most of the race, but continuously logged solid lap times, even held off a hard charging race leader to finish on the lead lap. The 14th-place finish moves Biffle up to 11th in the point standings.

The left side (tires) is new and a little softer compound maybe we just took it a little bit too far."
