Yard of Bricks...Justin Allgaier will be making his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). He has two starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) at IMS with a best finish of 12th. Allgaier will also participate in the Chevy golf tournament at the Brickyard Crossing located at IMS on Thursday, July 24.
McMurray at Indy: McMurray has made 11 starts at IMS, earning one win (2010), three top-five and five top-10 finishes. He has completed 1,740 laps out of a possible 1,761 laps (98.8%). He has led 48 laps, and has an average starting position of 15.6 and an average finishing position of 14.1. McMurray’s best start was fourth in 2010.
“I’m always excited leading into the Indy weekend, with it being such a historic track and to get back to racing after the off weekend, Our FedEx team is anxious to get our first win here and we’re going to work as hard as we can to put ourselves in a position to compete with the frontrunners.
In his first start at Chicagoland Speedway, Buescher qualified his EcoBoost Mustang in 13th. The rookie driver had a strong car, running inside the top-10 for much of the race. Ultimately, Buescher was able to score an eighth-place finish, his seventh top-10 of the 2014 season.
“I’m so excited for this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Not only is this one of the most historic race tracks in the country, this is also a home race for Lilly Diabetes. This is such a big race for this whole Drive to Stop Diabetes team, so I know they’ll give me a Mustang that’s capable of racing up front. We are going to have a ton of guests from the American Diabetes Association and Lilly Diabetes, so I’m hoping we can put on a good show for them in the Lilly Diabetes 250.”
"I finished sixth in my first Nationwide race at Indy and got another top-10 finish last year. It's definitely a different atmosphere than what we're used to, and there's so much history at that place, but for us it's a big track that offers another opportunity for a good finish. Our speedway program has improved so much this year and that's showing in our results. We need to take advantage of what Indy offers, because it certainly plays to one of our strengths."
