McMurray at Texas Motor Speedway: McMurray has made 20 previous starts at TMS. In those 20 starts he has compiled three top-five and six top-10’s finishes. He has an average starting position of 24.1 and average finish of 18.4.
“Texas is one of the fastest places we go to, and I have never been there. I am sure it will be a big learning experience. Roush Fenway has always had good results there, so hopefully I can lean on my teammates and have a good run.”

Richard Petty Motorsports in enjoying the organizations most successful start to a season thus far in 2014. Coming off the organizations 100th and 101st top-10 finishes with Marcos Ambrose and Aric Almirola at Martinsville, the drivers, along with Director of Competition Sammy Johns, took part in a teleconference Tuesday morning to discuss the success both individually, and as a team.
"The only other mile-and-a-half that we've run to date is Las Vegas, and it doesn't wear the tires as much as Texas does. Lap times are very similar, very fast, but tire wear is a lot different at Texas. You wear it a lot more. So that is something that we will focus on and make sure our engineers have a good game plan for it.
"I feel very confident going to Texas based on what we learned at Las Vegas. We had some issues late in the race in Vegas that hindered our finish. But, as far as drivability of the car and raw speed, we had it for sure. That's exciting and very promising for our team and for Front Row going to Texas now.
