Kentucky Speedway is seeking 15 race enthusiasts to found a Fan Council. Selected members will work directly with the speedway management team to brainstorm, discuss, debate and focus on ideas that will enhance the speedway guest experience. Discussions will be conducted throughout the year by either conference call, e-mail, survey or meetings at the 107,000-capacity speedway.

Watkins Glen Recap: Denny Hamlin finished 34th in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International, suffering a blown engine in the #11 FedEx Freight Toyota after 57 of 90 laps at the 2.4-mile road course event won by Marcos Ambrose. Hamlin started 23rd and steadily worked his way up through the field in the opening 30-lap stint.
Montreal Preview: The FedEx Racing colors will return to Canada this weekend for Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. Joe Gibbs Racing driver Michael McDowell will pilot the #18 FedEx Express Toyota in the 74-lap, 200-mile event on the 2.7-mile permanent street course. McDowell -- a Phoenix native -- has recorded four top-10 finishes in four Nationwide starts this season, including a season-best runner-up result at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis., in June. McDowell is making his fourth Series start at Montreal on Saturday. His best finish of third came in last season’s event after starting fifth.
