HAMPTON, Ga. (Aug. 16, 2012) – NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing will return to Atlanta Motor Speedway once again this Labor Day weekend, and while there are many reasons that you should be in attendance for the biggest Labor Day party in the USA, we’ve focused on five major reasons why you can’t afford to miss this year’s night racing triple-header at AMS:
Wild-Card Battle Will Run Through Atlanta
This year’s race for the Chase for the Sprint Cup features an intense fight for the two wild-card positions awarded to the two winningest drivers outside the top 10 in points following Richmond. With Atlanta’s AdvoCare 500 taking place the week before Richmond, the AdvoCare 500 will go a long way in deciding who will be in the playoffs and who will be preparing for 2013 during the season’s final 10 events. The Fast Cars & Guitars pre-race concert, presented by Bad Boy Buggies will take place prior to driver introductions on Sunday, headlined by country music stars Montgomery Gentry. The Coca-Cola® Fan Stage will be located outside the fronstretch grandstand and will feature a variety of entertainment all weekend. With driver appearances from stars like Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick, question-and-answer sessions, musical performances and games, there will be something for everyone at the Coca-Cola® Fan Stage. This first of its kind concession stand, located outside section 123 of the Earnhardt Grandstand, will feature five unique twists on traditional concession food. Free Eats For Fans With AdvoCare 500 Tickets
While the racing action may end on Sunday night, the activities at the track continue all the way through Labor Day. Fans in attendance at Sunday night’s AdvoCare 500 can join the AMS staff for a free breakfast on Monday morning in the Nationwide Series garage. “Breakfast on Bruton” will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and those in attendance will be able to visit with Atlanta Motor Speedway President and General Manager Ed Clark to talk about their weekend at Atlanta.
