“Our 88 team has made some strong gains over the past few races and hopefully we can carry that into this weekend. We have Ingersoll Rand on the car this week and we want to get a good run. They’re headquartered right up the road in Davidson (N.C.), so they’re going to have a lot of guests at the race and I think we can perform well for them."

Dave Blaney and Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) will compete in NASCAR’s longest race at their hometown track this weekend. Blaney will pilot the No. 36 SealWrap Chevrolet in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway Sunday, May 27.

Leonard Wood has always had a rare gift when it comes to things mechanical. When he was just 13 years old, he built himself a car, using crude tools and cast-away parts. He took a washing machine-style engine, parts from an old Ford car, valve springs from a Lincoln Zephyr and built a car that would run 15 miles per hour.

Following the announcement of the 2013 NASCAR Hall of Fame class tonight, NASCAR announced the creation of a new award to honor the contributions of media to the success of the sport.

NASCAR announced today the 2013 class of inductees into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The five-person class, which will be officially inducted in a ceremony on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C., consists of Buck Baker, Cotton Owens, Herb Thomas, Rusty Wallace and Leonard Wood.
