It was a performance of being steady and savvy for Martin Truex Jr., who nailed a fifth-place finish in Sunday's Geico 500 at the harrowing Talladega Superspeedway.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. maintained the lead over the final 27 laps Sunday to win the GEICO 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. It is his sixth career NACAR Sprint Cup victory at Talladega Superspeedway – tying him with Jeff Gordon for the most among active drivers – but his first since 2004.

Ryan Blaney and the Wood Brothers Racing Team were looking for their luck to improve when they unloaded the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion for the Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend. Good luck they did find, as well as considerable speed.

TREVOR BAYNE – No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion – “I haven’t seen it yet, but it felt like the 27 was really tight on our door and sucked us around. Our car was a little loose, but we had a fast race car today. I hate that a lot of cars got torn up, but especially our AdvoCare Ford.

Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion, was involved in a multi-car incident in the early stages of the 188-Lap event at Talladega Superspeedway, ultimately earning a 41st-place finish.

Denny Hamlin (ninth) was the top-finishing Camry driver in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama. Dale Earnhardt Jr. was today’s race winner.
