Many variables will factor into the racing product at Kansas Speedway this weekend, but there's one thing David Ragan thinks you can count on: The Gen-6 car will be fast. The STP 400 race weekend will be the first time the Sprint Cup Series' new car will race on the recently repaved oval in Kansas City, Kan.

Running one of the best cars they have had all season, the team had a competitive race logging laps inside the top 20 before being caught off the lead lap to finish the event in the 24th position.

Johnson took sixth in the NRA 500 at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday night and held on to the lead in the Sprint Cup point standings. He leads Brad Keselowski by nine points.
